Part 2.

The Show & Sale for Cows & Heifer’s was one of the best ever in the 40 years of trading for both quality and prices at Baltinglass Mart. The trade was  very lively and there were plenty of buyers for all classes.

Record prices were achieved for many exceptional quality heifers and cows.

Mart owner Mr. Joe Kinsella said that he was a more than satisfied with the sale and with the  good prices for the quality of stock supplied by local farmers. The Champion Belgian Blue Heifer was owner by Donal Foley, Talbotstown, Kiltegan she weighed 700Kg and made €1940. The Champion group was won by Mr. Niall Moody,Ballyhubbock, Stratford -on-Slaney.

Class 1:

Best Butchers Heifer:  Winner Thomas O’Toole, Tankardstown, Baltinglass his Limousin Heifer weighing 710 kg and made €1760.
